About Crest :

Crest is located east of El Cajon. The name Crest is actually the result of the combination of the previously named La Cresta and Suncrest. Crest was twice devastated by wildfires: first by the Laguna Fire in 1970 then again by the Cedar Fire in 2003. In June of 2009, it was announced that local businesses would pitch in $12,000 to build a 14-foot cast iron sculpture of a toothpaste tube, in reference the popular toothpaste brand sharing its name with the community.
